Sign-On Bonus by Employer Type
Only one in eight hospitalists employed by university medical schools receive a sign-on bonuses. One-third of hospitalists employed at a VA hospital; multispecialty or primary care group; hospital or hospital corporation; and national hospitalist management group are likely to receive a sign-on bonus.
• Hospitalists employed by local hospitalist groups and other employers averaged significantly higher sign-on bonuses, $17,727 and $22,000 respectively.
