Two of three hospitalists work in the ICU. But there is a significant variation among specialties and employers.
• Only one of four general pediatric hospitalists work in the ICU.
• Nearly all family medicine and pulmonary/critical care hospitalists work in the ICU.
• A vast majority of med/peds hospitalists work in the ICU.
