Shifts Worked
Two in five hospitalists primarily work a rotating shift schedule. Three in 10 hospitalists primarily work day shifts. One in five hospitalists have schedules that vary.
About half of hospitalists do not work shifts other than their primary shifts. When asked about primary and other shifts worked, one in five work nights. Three in 10 work evenings and nights on call.
All figures are mean averages and based on 632 respondents. Numbers don't add up to 100% due to multiple selections.
